About Tee Chong Yu
Chong Yu has more than 16 years of combined experience in financial audit and data analytics. His experience spans across a diversified range of industries, including but not limited to, stock exchange, investment fund, banks, retail, distribution and manufacturing, oil trading, social welfare funds, airline, airport services, telecommunications, construction, amongst many others.
He currently teaches accounting analytics elective in Nanyang Technological University (“NTU”) and was also a former Adjunct Lecturer in Singapore Management University (“SMU”) teaching the Audit Analytics elective under the SMU Second Major in Accounting Data Analytics.
He is also trainer on data analytics-related subjects with professional bodies such as Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and previously with Deloitte Learning Solutions.
He has co-authored one of the chapters titled “Data Analytics in Audit” in a joint publication by CPA Australia and SMU School of Accountancy, “Embracing Digital Transformation in Accounting and Finance”.
Prior to joining HLB Atrede, he was a director with Deloitte, leading a regional Southeast Asia data analytics team in delivering data analytics solutions to both audit and non-audit clients. Before his stint with Deloitte, he was an audit manager with KPMG with the dual responsibilities of managing his own portfolio of audit clients as well as the lead for data analytics engagement support, including but not limited to reviews of all data analytics-related engagements in the planning, execution and delivery of data-driven audit to the clients.
Chong Yu holds a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in Accounting from the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore, an ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant and a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“FCCA”).
