About Eugene Yio
Eugene Yio is an experienced accounting and corporate governance professional with over two decades of experience spanning audit and corporate secretarial services. He began his career in audit in 2001, where he was involved in both statutory and non-statutory engagements for a wide range of international and local companies. His industry exposure includes communications, infrastructure, manufacturing, environmental management, retail, investment holding, and trading, providing him with a well-rounded understanding of diverse business environments.
Eugene has significant experience in IFRS reporting, including coordinating with overseas auditors and managing audits of Singapore-listed holding companies with subsidiaries across multiple jurisdictions. Prior to joining HLB Atrede, he was a Senior Audit Manager with KPMG, where he was involved in complex, cross-border audit engagements.
Since 2012, Eugene has focused on corporate secretarial services, advising a diverse portfolio of local and multinational clients. His experience spans various corporate structures, including companies limited by guarantee and Variable Capital Companies (VCCs). He supports clients on a broad range of corporate actions and governance matters, including share buybacks, rights issues, and the organisation and documentation of board and shareholder meetings such as AGMs and EGMs. His work ensures that clients remain compliant while navigating both routine and complex corporate requirements.
Eugene holds a Bachelor of Accountancy, with a minor in Information Technology, and is a practising member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
Beyond his professional work, Eugene is actively involved in community service. He served as President of the Rotary Club of Changi from July 2022 to June 2023, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership and service.
